

HYANNIS – Alan F. Daly, 76, died Sept. 6 at Cape Cod Hospital after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Janet Morgan Daly for almost 25 years.
The son of Alan and Regina Daly, he grew up in Pelham and New Rochelle, NY. He graduated from Iona Elementary, Iona Prep and Fordham University after serving four years in the U.S. Air Force.
Alan retired after 20 years with the Westchester County Chapter of the American Red Cross in 1995, when he and his wife retired to Chatham MA. There, he served on the board of the Eldredge Public Library and the Chatham Cable Committee. In July 2008, the Dalys moved to Hyannis and became parishioners at St. Francis Xavier Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister and on the Stewardship Committee.
Alan loved the sea and spent his younger days sailing competitively on Long Island Sound, in Bermuda races, as well as trans-Atlantic and Pacific events. He was a member of the Monomoy Yacht Club for some years.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his son Hugh Morgan and wife Rebecca, and Dr. William Fabbri, whom he considered a son, and wife Monica, as well as his sister Judith O’Connell, his brothers-in-law William Russell and wife Jo and Thomas Russell and wife Mary. Sisters Judy and Joan’s children were especially dear to him: Megan and Andrew, Stacie, Lizbet and Scott, Kerry and Al, Kinnan and Tom, Claire and John, Kevin and Eva, Diane and Chris, Laurie and Nick, Marilee and David, as were their children and grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a..m. on Friday, Sept. 10 at St. Francis Xavier Church. Internment is private at the Bourne National Military Cemetery.
