Albert J. Madden
June 15, 1918 – November 24, 2018
HYANNIS- Albert J. Madden, 100, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 24, 2018.
Born in Derry NH, he was a son of the late James and Agnes Madden. Albert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
Albert was an accomplished musician and played in Army Bands, Big Bands, and the Barnstable Town Band for many years. He also played taps at many funerals and most of the memorial events on Cape Cod including the 50th anniversary of WWII and Korean War Memorial.
He is survived by his wife Carmen Madden; two sons, David Madden and his wife Debra, and Bruce Madden and his husband Rolf Gantenbein; siblings, Edward Madden, Marlene Gammans, and Irene Tousignant; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; as well as his extended Brazilian family.
Albert was predeceased by his first wife, Rose Madden; a son, Albert J. Madden, Jr.; and a daughter, Beverly Kraut.
At Albert's request, calling hours have been omitted. A graveside service will take place Friday, November 30th at 1:15 p.m. in MA National Veteran's Cemetery, Bourne.
