Allen Goddard, age 67, died of a heart attack on January 16 at his home in Hyannis. Allen was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 17, 1951. He graduated from high school there and then attended Harvard University. Allen was a full-time resident of Hyannis for about 40 years, living in the family home on South Street. Allen was interested in reading, listening to music, watching and feeding local birds and sailing his fourteen foot catboat on Lewis Bay. Allen’s passion was following and participating in local politics. He was a director of the Greater Hyannis Civic Association for many years. Allen is survived by his brother, Thomas of Sarasota, FL, his sister, Elizabeth Dater of Portsmouth, NH, his niece, Elizabeth Hope of Yarmouth, ME and her son Thomas.
A memorial is planned for later in the year. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Sturgis Library in Barnstable or the Mass Audubon Society are suggested.
