Alyce Jane Greer

Born in Hartford, CT on May 23rd,1949 to Joseph F. Coughlin and Agnes M. Coughlin (Forster). Alyce grew-up in Coventry, CT on Coventry Lake where her family owned and operated “The Milk Bar” with her siblings; Mary Ann(Coughlin) Stygar, Jeanne(Coughlin) Capizzi, Grace Anna Coughlin-Heisterborg, and Joseph Coughlin. In 1968, Alyce graduated from Coventry High School and later from Fischer Junior College with Honors. Professionally, Alyce worked for Pratt Whitney Aircraft Co. and went on to become a well-respected Title Examiner on Cape Cod. After marrying her husband William “Bill” Greer, she settled in West Barnstable where she raised her family until later moving to Florida to become a “Snow-Bird”. Alyce enjoyed time with her friends and family at the Hyannis Yacht Club, swimming in her Florida pool and being the “Unit Mom” at Sebastian River Medical Center. Being a mother and helping others was her life’s joy.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, William Greer; children, Brian Greer and Carrie Ann Greer; step children, Julie Greer-Mula, William Greer & Karin (Greer) Pope; grandchildren, Kaelin, Stella, Aria, Michele, Joe, Laura Lynn, Hannahrose, Jim, Andrew, Amy, Audrey; and five great-grandchildren. Her laugh, smile and larger than life personality will be missed by all who knew her.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 9th at 11am, at St. Francis Xavier Church, 347 South St., Hyannis, MA 02601.
