

Angelo L. Medeiros, 85, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family June 4, 2013. Born in St. Michael in the Azores, he spent his childhood and was educated there. He worked on his father’s farm until the age of 39 at which time he relocated to New Bedford, MA. During his four years there, he worked for the Aerovox company prior to moving to Hyannis in 1971. Once on the Cape, he became involved in the construction industry and eventually became a partner in a construction company. He continued this work until his retirement at age 65.
Angelo was a member of the Society of Senhor Da Pedra located in New Bedford. His passions in life included, gardening, his Koi Pond as well as fishing and clamming with his kids.
He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor and devoted love of his family.
He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Hortensia. He also leaves his children, Maria – Alice and husband Bert Pereira of Hyannis, Maria and husband Rick Medeiros of Hyannis and Joseph and wife Jen Mederios of N. Smithfield, RI. Angelo is also survived by his 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be on Friday June 7, 2013 from 4-9pm at the Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St. Hyannis, MA 02601. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday June 8, 2013 at 10am at Our Lady of Victory Church, Centerville. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
