Hyannis - Arnold F. Murphy Sr., 80, passed away on January 18, 2011 at Cape Cod Hospital. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War era. He was an artist and a painter. Arnold was an avid fan of both the Patriots and Red Sox.
He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine. He leaves two sons, Chip and Christopher, five daughters, Catherine Kimball, Sheila Murphy, Michelle Mulcahy, Leslye Murphy, Arnel Murphy and his sister Margret Macuga as well as his brother Godfrey Murphy and close friend Peter Demers. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11am-12pm on Monday January 24, 2011 at the Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St. Hyannis 02601. A funeral service will also be held in the funeral home at the conclusion of the visitation. Interment will be in Mosswood Cemetery, Putnam Ave. Cotuit.
