AROLYN R GARNEAU
September 11, 1936 – March 13, 2020
Arolyn (Lyn) R. Garneau was called home from natural causes in the midst of her slumber in the wee hours of Friday, March 13, 2020.
Born Arolyn R. Lundburg on September 11, 1936 in Westminster, MA, she pursued her calling to help people by attending nursing school, becoming an R.N. and doing this while she was starting a family. Lyn retired as an R.N. from the Coronary Care Unit of Cape Cod Hospital in 1994.
She was preceded in death by Richard P. Garneau, Sr., retired Fire Fighter and husband of 49 years. Both were passionate in their chosen, lifelong careers. They both had several interests beyond their chosen professions. Lyn enjoyed cooking and came from a long line of talented Swedish homemakers. Armed with several recipes, Lyn had authored two cookbooks in her spare time. In her retirement, Lyn enjoyed traveling and a good day of yard sale hopping. Both activities she considered a “clear the head” activity. But most of all, Lyn enjoyed time with her family.
Lyn is survived by her oldest son and his wife, Richard P. and Joan Garneau Jr., her daughter Jane Garneau, and youngest son and his wife, David and Lisa Garneau. In addition, she leaves behind four grandchildren, Susan, Tim, Ed and Sarah Garneau, as well as one great grandchild Alyvia Garneau, and one expected to arrive soon. Also survived is her sister, Diane Springer, nephews Robert Springer and family, John John Springer and family, and niece Kim Lusha and family.
A small family send off is planned as soon as people become less communicable.
