Barbara Page Bisol, 77, died unexpectedly yet peacefully on September 15, 2025 at Cape Cod Hospital. Barbara Jean Page was born in Hackensack, NJ on June 15, 1948, the daughter of William A. and Nancy (Collinson) Page. Barbara lived the bulk of her youth in Old Chatham, NY, where she graduated from Old Chatham High School in 1966.
Barbara met her future husband, Gene L. Bisol, at Boston University where they were both students and spent the next 57 years together. Barb and Gene enjoyed 20 years in the Army travelling extensively in Europe and several Stateside locations. During that time, Barbara also completed a BS degree in Nursing from Hampton Institute and a Master’s degree in Nursing from UMASS – Worcester. She held nursing positions in a variety of disciplines including ER, VNA, home health, military clinics and school nursing. She ended her nursing career in 2006 as the Director of Nurses for the Leominster, MA school system.
Barb was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all that entered her life. Her smile could light up a room. She was an avid gardener, a talented seamstress who was known for her beautiful quilts and an outstanding cook. Barb’s hospitality was legendary among friends and acquaintances. She loved entertaining and was renowned for her ability to construct a superb meal for any sized group at a moment's notice. Barb welcomed everyone into her home and her life.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Gene L. Bisol, daughter Bonnie Bisol Cassidy and husband, Trey, of Portsmouth, NH; son, Adam S. Bisol and wife Karen, of Scituate, MA; three grandchildren, Page Cassidy, Bridgette Cassidy, and Samuel Bisol; brother, Alan Page and wife, Joanna, of Belchertown, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
It was Barbara’s desire that she be cremated and her ashes scattered privately in the areas of the world she lived in and so enjoyed. There will be no immediate funeral service, but there will be several Celebration of Life gatherings at times and locations matching the places she lived starting with Naples, FL in the winter of 2026 and then central Massachusetts and Cape Cod summer of 2026.
