Barbara June Kearney

Barbara Kearney was born in Hyannis, Massachusetts and attended Barnstable Public Schools. She left the cape in her early years and lived in many locations. She finally settled in Boston where she lived for the remainder of her life. She worked as a certified Phlebotomist at New England Baptist Hospital, but retired from her most recent employment with Newton – Wellesley Hospital.

Barbara attended Open Heaven Ministries. She was very active as an usher and in community outreach with her church and spent many hours with her church family. She enjoyed being surrounded by her many house plants and beloved pets Peepers and Cuddles.

She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Mendes and her husband James, Sr. her brother Michael Kearney, Sr. and wife Carole, her sister Joyce Maddox and husband Harry, her sister Yvonne Kearney, her brother Darrin Smith and wife Robin and her dear cousins Carole Tobey and Kathleen Shortell. She was predeceased by her sister Dene Williams and her brother Paul Kearney.

Barbara came from a very large family and leaves behind many beloved Cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. She also leaves behind her long time friend, Amelia Aguilar and her Goddaughter, Amelinda Carmenatty.

In remembrance of Barbara, any donations can be made to Cancer Research, American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Hospital.
