Beverly S Colella
April 17, 1929 – February 27, 2019
Beverly Snow Colella, of Centerville, MA (formerly of Barrington, RI) passed away peacefully on 27 February 2019 and joined her beloved husband Richard in heaven. Beverly was born to the late Ralph and Marjorie Snow and was pre-deceased by her sister Shirley.
Beverly graduated from East Providence High School (RI) in 1947 and went on to earn degrees in education: Bachelors (Rhode Island College) and Masters (Roger Williams College).
Beverly was a devoted elementary school teacher in Barrington for many years at Sowams, Maple Avenue, Hamden Meadows, Nayatt and Primrose Hill Schools. She enjoyed running into grateful students right up until the time of her death.
Beverly was the heart of her home, sharing her gift of hospitality and her incredible culinary skill with family and friends. She was also an extremely talented artist. Her watercolors, knitted clothing, braided rugs and mural furniture are widespread among her extended family and friends.
She was also an avid gardener with beautiful examples of her skill adorning her home, along with transplanted perennials that have propagated far and wide through generations of family.
An extraordinarily devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her three children: Peter (Heidi), Robin (Michael) and Kurt (Mary Ellen); eight grandchildren Annie, Martha (Brendan), Elizabeth (John), Matthew (Rebecca), Leigh (Timothy), Kathryn (Adam), Christine (Timothy), and Erin; and two great granddaughters. She is also survived by her brother Douglas (Pat), along with many nieces and nephews.
