Born on May 30, 1957, in Hartford, Connecticut, Brenda was the daughter of Thomas and Marie Calvi. The second of four children, she grew up in West Hartford and graduated from Conard High School.
In 1983, Brenda relocated to Hyannis, where she built a life centered on family, community, and hard work. She welcomed her son, Gunnar Anderson, before moving to Cape Cod, and her daughter, Catarina (Anderson) Parache, was born in 1985.
A talented entrepreneur, Brenda owned and operated The Flower Boutique for several years, combining her artistic talents with her love of nature and beauty. In the early 1990s, she transitioned to the banking industry, beginning a distinguished 34-year career. She worked for Cape Cod Bank & Trust and later TD Bank, retiring in 2024.
Brenda was a gifted artist with an extraordinary green thumb. She lovingly cared for a foxtail fern for more than 41 years, a testament to her patience and dedication. She cherished summers on Cape Cod and spent as much time as possible at the beach. An avid reader, Brenda rarely went without a book and often finished at least one each week. She enjoyed gardening, watching hummingbirds and wildlife in her yard, and found joy in simple moments, such as watching a bunny rabbit hop across the lawn. She was also a devoted fan of UConn Huskies basketball and treasured every moment spent with her beloved granddaughter, Marianna.
Brenda is survived by her mother, Marie Calvi of Newington, Connecticut; her brothers, Thomas J. Calvi and John F. Calvi, both of West Hartford; her daughter, Catarina Parache, and granddaughter, Marianna Parache, of Hyannis; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her father, Thomas Calvi of Newington, Connecticut; her brother, Joseph M. Calvi of Enfield, Connecticut; and her beloved son, Gunnar Anderson of Hyannis.
