Claire “Bonnie” Jean Forbes (nee Robertson), much-loved sister, aunt, friend, stepmother, step grandmother, and devoted nurse, passed away peacefully after complications from multiple strokes, at the age of 80.
Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, to Earl and Claire (Hebert) Robertson, Bonnie was the eldest of seven children. From an early age, she developed the strong work ethic that guided her life and vocation.
Bonnie pursued her calling as a nurse with passion and dedication. Starting her career in Oklahoma, continuing for 30+ years in Greenwich, Connecticut, and Sandwich, Massachusetts, where she cherished her relationships with patients, doctors, and fellow nurses. Her warmth, skill, and compassion touched countless lives.
She is survived by her siblings Bruce Robertson (Nina) of Marblehead, MA; Marylou Poignand (John) of Chatham, MA; David Robertson (Tina) of Williamsville, NY; Paul Robertson of Encinitas, CA; James Robertson of Falmouth, MA and Carol Mackenzie (Don) of Parker, CO. Her extended family includes beloved nieces and nephews on Cape Cod, especially Courtney Poignand and many dear cousins in the Boston area.
Bonnie was married and widowed twice, first to Frank Coletto and later to Robert (Bob) Forbes. Through her marriage to Bob, she became a loving stepmother to Heather and Craig Forbes, and a proud step grandmother to Dean and Derek Gilfort.
Bonnie delighted in the simple joys of life. Her laughter, love for animals, generosity and zest for life will be remembered with love by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
