Daniel J. "Dan" Kenney

Daniel J. “Dan” Kenney, 79, originally from Arlington, MA, died following complications from illness on September 29, 2016 in Fort Pierce, FL where he enjoyed his golden years. Dan attended Norwich University, served his country as 1st Lieutenant in the Army 7th Cavalry, stationed in Bamberg, Germany and was honorably discharged. His long career as a ship broker enabled him to fulfill his passion for travel overseas to many foreign destinations. He is survived by his four children, Susanne Dettinger-Klemm & husband Eckehard of Munich, Germany, Michele Garner & husband Allen of Avon, CO, Christina Atkinson of Fishers, IN and Christopher Kenney of Stamford, CT. He also leaves behind, Barbara Kenney of Centerville, MA (mother of his 4 Children) and 4 Grandchildren - Kathleen Dettinger-Klemm, Daniel Dettinger-Klemm, Patrick Dettinger-Klemm and Nicolas Atkinson. He will be missed dearly by his family and his many friends in FL, MA & overseas. Visitation hours will be held on Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 from 9-11 AM at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main Street, Hyannis, MA 02601, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. The committal service will continue at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA at 1:15 PM.
