

Plymouth – Donald A. Dinneen, 74, died at home May 4th 2011. Born in Providence RI, he grew up in Cranston and served in the U.S. Navy as a Petty Officer aboard a ship with his identical twin brother during the Korean War era. He completed his education at Dean Jr. College after which he and his twin brother David joined their father in the formation and running of the Dinneen family building products business. In 1979, Donald and two partners purchased King Aviation Service in Taunton, MA which he operated until his semi-retirement in 1995.
He met and married his first wife Marcia in 1963 and they enjoyed 25 years of marriage. In 1991, he met his current wife Marsha and they were married in 1997.
An avid fan of all Boston sports teams, he also enjoyed flying, was a national sailing champion, wine connoisseur, cook and naturalist. He was a longtime member of the Hyannis Yacht Club, Lewis Bay Yacht Club, former president of the Massachusetts Airport Management Association, and a certified flight instructor.
He is survived by his wife Marsha, sons, David and wife Paula of Scituate, Jonathan of Bridgewater, daughters, Nancy Dinneen Cruz and husband Paul of Dartmouth, Kelley Dinneen of Bridgewater, Danielle Dinneen of FL and Amy Whitford of Cambridge. Donald also leaves six grandsons and one granddaughter.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday May 8, 2011 from 6-8pm at the Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St. Hyannis, MA 02601. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, South St. Hyannis on Monday May 9, 2011 at 10am. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Centerville .
