Although Betty lived on Cape Cod most of her life, she grew up in Hingham where she took great pride in helping to raise her nine younger siblings. She loved horses and all other wildlife.
Betty spent much of her career as the office manager at the Hyannis optometric practice of her first husband, Dr. Donald Snyder. Later, after meeting and marrying Dick Grayson, Jr, she enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, and taking long walks with family and her dear friend, Susan at their camp in Rangeley, ME.
Upon retiring, she split her time between Hyannis and Cape Coral, FL. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers and birds, and her frequent walks with her lifelong friend, Lorraine.
Betty is survived by her husband, Dick, her children, Peter and Mark, his wife Gail, her grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel, and her siblings, Edward (Reggie), Elaine, Gerard, David, Julie, Patricia, Rosemary, Roberta, and Stephanie. She enjoyed having such a large and loving family.
Betty’s wish was to be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Donations in Betty’s honor can be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
