On Saturday September 28, 2019, Gene M. Corley (Gigi), loving father, grandfather, husband and friend, sadly passed away at the age of 66. Gene was born on June 2, 1953 in Natick, MA to John D. and Sally Corley. Gene was in the United States Navy and proudly served on the USS Great Sitkin during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. In the late 70’s to mid- 80’s he worked as a heavy machinery and truck mechanic, he could fix anything and everything. Gene could often be found in the garage tinkering with his Harley or working on his truck. He was taught by his father-in-law, Norman, how to hang wallpaper and took pride in his craft. He worked for the Painters and Allied Trades Union up until his retirement. His daughters, Sarah and Jackie were the light of his life. He loved being a father and grandfather more than anything, and every chance he had he would talk about his children and grandchildren to friends, old and new. One of his passions was riding his Harley Davidson, enjoying his annual trip up to Laconia and attending events near and far including Sturgis and Daytona. It was hard for him when his illness no longer allowed him to ride. Gene rooted for the Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins, and would watch every game with enthusiasm and excitement. He loved playing pool, talking politics and shooting the breeze. Those who knew Gene knew a man who was kind and caring. He was always cracking jokes, telling longer than necessary stories and loved having a good time with his friends. He had a wonderful smile and a great laugh. He was one of a kind.
Gene was predeceased by his father, John D. Corley Jr., his mother, Sally Corley and his brother John D. Corley III. He is survived by his daughters, Sarah Bustin, her husband John and their children, Emma and Jack; Jackie Allen, husband Billy and their son William; his wife Karen Corley; his brother Bruce Corley and partner Robert Watson; sisters Sally Corley, Johanna Corley and her husband Robert Pascarella; and Erica Corley, his nephews John D.
