George Leroy Jones Jr.

August 23, 1974September 28, 2020

George “Pook” Jones Jr, 46, passed away at Boston Medical peacefully on September 28, 2020 after a vigilant fight with diabetes. George was the only son of Rosalie Miranda, brother to Tracy Miranda and Natasha Cash, and proud father of Denasia Jones. George was the husband of Shay Jones and loving stepfather to her two daughters Morgan and Brianna as well as son Josiah which he raised since birth. He also leaves behind an abundance of family including nieces and nephews, and cousins who were more like brothers to him. George grew up on the Cape where he spent his entire life, and was a very proud member of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe; a title he always carried with such honor. He was known to make light of every situation, be true to himself and loyal to family, and could always make you laugh no matter how difficult of a time. He will be remembered by these great qualities and a beautiful smile, deeply missed, and quietly walking alongside us until the day we all reunite again. “My body is only a vessel for my soul and won’t last forever, but my soul shall always shine on.” Viewing will be held at Old Indian Meetinghouse Road, 410 Meetinghouse Road, Mashpee, MA 02649, on Saturday October 10, 2020 from 11 am – 1pm.
