Grace M. Daigle

Grace was born in Cambridge on February 15, 1957 and was a resident of Cape Cod since 1978. Along with her loving husband Peter of 35 years she raised their four children in the Centerville home they lived in for 30 years. Grace’s children, Sarah, Michael, Erin and Kerry were the pride of her life.

Those with whom she was closest knew Grace for her kindness, easy-going manner, and consistent support. She cared deeply about the well-being of others, and was constantly doing good deeds and advocating for those in need without any desire for recognition.

Although Grace had a great sense of adventure and traveled extensively with her husband and family, her favorite moments were the quiet ones; early morning walks on Long Beach with her friends, conversations with Peter in their gardens in the late summer afternoons, and making her children laugh with her quick wit and sense of humor.

Grace was Peter's confidante in all decisions. She played a critical role in building his Centerville law practice by instilling a sense of compassion, understanding, and professionalism in the day-to-day work of the firm. Her sense of community was well known in Centerville, and extended to her volunteering in the Barnstable school system when her children were students.

Grace was the daughter of Dorothy Donnelly and the late James Donnelly. In addition to her husband and children she is survived by her siblings James Donnelly, Carol Murray and her husband Ed, Jill Donnelly and Sue Elliot, and her loving son-in-law Gerry O’Shea and mother-in-law Mary Daigle, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Janet Cameron.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Oncology Unit at Cape Cod Hospital or The Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Fund of Dr. Toni Choueiri.

Friends and family are invited to attend her memorial service at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main Street, Hyannis, between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22nd. Friends and family are also invited to a funeral mass for Grace at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23rd at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Centerville.
