Laura, my crew team mate from Nobles, your father truly left the world a better place than he found it. The notice in the paper moved me to tears. Your love for your husband and father shines through it. I wish you all peace. Alison J. Bane.

I offer my sincere condolences to the family of Herb Ahrens. I was the CEO of the chamber of commerce in Waltham for a number of years and had the pleasure of working with Herb on behalf of the business and industrial community. He was a person of obvious quality, quiet, unassuming and very smart. He provided thoughtful leadership to the chamber and to the entire Waltham community in every volunteer task he undertook. When I retired in 1994, Herb was kind enough to attend and speak at my retirement dinner at the Hillcrest in Waltham. Ted Manning, Ipswich, MA
