

He attended Boston schools and graduated from Tabor Academy in 1947. He also attended Babson College.
In October of 1951, he enlisted in the United States Marines Corp and in 1953 was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant. After being discharged, he was in the reserves.
After his military duties, he worked as Vice President for Garden City Trust Company and Bank of New England in Boston.
Upon his retirement, he settled on Cape Cod, where he summered in Barnstable Village his whole life.
He was a member of the Commodores Club of America, The American Legion- Natick Post 107 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars- Natick Post 1274.
In 2020, he was inducted into the Tabor Academy’s Athletic Hall of Fame for his accomplishments as a member of the 1947 Henley Crew Team.
He is survived by his son Jeffrey Ross Stewart and his wife Maureen of Yarmouthport, his daughter Victoria Lee Stewart of Middletown, RI, his six grandchildren Jared Duncan Stewart, Cameron Ross Stewart, Braden Roy Stewart, Samantha Victoria Esper, Stewart Fox Esper, and Sydney Lee Esper. He is also survived by his brother Robert D. Stewart of Barnstable and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents Dr. Roy Bryson Stewart and Marjorie (Ross) Stewart and his siblings Jean Stewart Hilton and Roy Bryson Stewart Jr.
The family is grateful to the staff at Thirwood Place and Windsor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the staff at Cape Cod Hospital for their outstanding care.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024 from 12pm-2pm at Doane Beal and Ames, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis. Burial will be private.
