James Frank Maclachlan

It is with deep sadness we announce that James F. 'Jim' Maclachlan beloved husband and cherished father, 82 of Hyannis, passed away on January 30, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, after a long battle with Parkinsons and Heart Disease.

Born in Quincy, Ma. on November 9, 1942, to the late James A. Maclachlan and Dorothy (Treco) Maclachlan. Jim was a devoted family man. Jim married Ruth (DeMoranville) in 1968 and spent the next 56 years building their life together. Jim and Ruth raised three kids James W. Maclachlan (Jennifer) of Sandwich MA, Kathleen Tassi (Jeff) South Boston MA, and Barbara Maclachlan (Marty) Nashua NH. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Abigail, Hannah and Gianna. His sister Janet Police (Bob) and several nieces and nephews.

Jim grew up in Quincy, Ma and summered on Cape Cod settling there in the 1960s. He graduated from Proctor Academy and UMass Amherst playing hockey and baseball at both. Jim was an avid golfer and a longtime member at Cummaquid Golf Club in Yarmouth Port MA and Palm Aire in Sarasota Fl creating wonderful friends and memories from both courses. Jim was an enthusiast of all Boston sports and enjoyed reading.

Funeral services will be private per his wishes.
