

James “Jimmy” Harrington Pritchard, 70, passed away, as he lived his life, like a lion, on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Cape Cod Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lisa V. George, with whom he shared many loving years of marriage. Born in Fort Worth, TX on December 24, 1950, he was a son of the late James F. and Marion C. Pritchard. Jimmy was a graduate of Leominster High School (1969) where he played football. He went on to attend Miami Dade College in Miami, FL and Nichols College in Dudley, MA. Jimmy was an avid participant in school and local theater.
Jimmy was an actor in NYC and performed with the Comedy Troupes, “Men Without Pants.” and 50/50 They performed in comedy clubs throughout. He also had a local radio show in NJ with friends, and worked in television and film. Jimmy also worked as a bartender at Virgil’s Real BBQ, Mumbles and Home Bar in New York City.
After over 20 years in NYC Jimmy and Lisa moved back to their home state of MA. where he was in the play 12 Angry Men at The Cotuit Center for the Arts and worked for many years at Mattakeese Wharf and recently at Cotuit Liquors making many friends along the way as was his nature.
Jimmy loved reading, writing and telling jokes He was also the author of the book, published by Warner books" The NYC Bartender’s Joke Book” .
Jimmy was an alpine skier, raced slalom, and belonged to ski patrol. He also played golf, surfed, scuba diver, Won awards in swimming, belonged to a softball league, and played the guitar.
Jimmy had a passion for telling stories and jokes. He was a truly gregarious person who will be deeply missed by all those that knew him.
In addition to his wife, Lisa, Jimmy is survived by his two sons, Matthew Pritchard, his wife Kelly (OH), Sgt. Major Michael Pritchard (USMC) , his wife Takako (VA); six grandchildren, Grant, Jordan, Grace, Benjamin (OH), Andrew & Jeremiah (VA); three siblings, Linda Aschenbrenner her husband Larry (NY), Shawn Pritchard (MA), and Jennifer Safron and her husband Joseph (MA). A niece, Erinn Quentin and her husband Greg (IL); a nephew, Eric Aschenbrenner and his wife Sarah (NYC); great-nephews, Corey Gibbons : wife Leanna (TX) and Jackson Gibbons (IL); a great-niece, Aevyn Aschenbrenner; and a great-great niece, Audrey Gibbons (TX); as well as cousins, David Kamila, Wendy Harrington, Lee McKenney, and Barbara McKenney, along with their children and grandchildren (ME).
At Jimmy’s request, services have been omitted. A celebration of life will be at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, Hyannis.
