Jennie Karukas

JENNIE H. KARUKAS, 93, of West Barnstable, died Wednesday, February 4, 2015

A beloved Mother and Grandmother, Jennie was born in Stamford,

Connecticut on March 25, 1921.

She graduated from Stamford High School in 1939.

Married to her loving husband, Nicholas P. Karukas, she was the

mother of five children and three grandchildren.

Jennie worked at Pitney-Bowes in Stamford during WW ll.

Along with her husband, Jennie owned and operated Spartan Cleaners in Hyannis for over 30 years.

She had a heart of gold and will be remembered for her tender kindness and patience. Jennie was strong in her faith, and touched

many lives.

She is predeceased by her brother Victor. and sisters Alice, Angela,

and Beatrice.

Jennie is survived by her children, Ellen Murray, Peter Karukas and

wife Tomasina, Dennis Karukas and wife Cynthia, Mary Cadrin and

husband Roger, James Karukas and wife Lynne.

Her three grandchildren are Ali, Laura, and Gregory.

Calling hours are Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 3:30 pm at the Doane Beal and

Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main St., Hyannis, MA.

Her Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February. 9, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 347 South St., Hyannis.
