Born John Francis English in Everett, MA, to Vincent B. English Sr. and Lillian Gertrude Crowley, Johnny is remembered by family and friends as "the guy you called". A pipefitter by trade, he was a proud member of Pipefitters Local 537 and nicknamed “Professional Steward” by other members.
Known as “The Honorary Mayor of Hyannis Park,” Johnny was a beloved relative and friend. He generously pledged his time to his union, charitable tournaments, and his loved ones—and he was also well known for spending that time at too many reputable (and disreputable) establishments to name. Johnny was happiest when out on a boat or being with the people he loved.
He was predeceased by his parents and brothers. He is survived and fondly remembered by his nephew, nieces, cousins, and an endless circle of extended family and friends.
Johnny will be remembered in countless future toasts, and whenever anyone says, “Oh, you’ve gotta know Johnny English!”
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 2-4 at Trader Ed’s, Hyannis Marina, Hyannis, MA.
