John Arthur Lagarde

John A Lagarde, 77, of Hyannis, formerly of Bridgewater passed away on May 29, 2018. Born in Bridgewater he was the son of the late Wilferd and Gertrude Lagarde.

John graduated form Bridgewater High School in 1958. In 1974 he married the love of his life Kathleen (Martinelli) Lagarde, and enjoyed 44 years of marriage. After living in Framingham for awhile, John and Kathleen moved Dennis Port where they started their family before moving to Hyannis. Later in life John would go on to retire from Cape Cod Community College.

John was an avid collector of model and toy fire trucks which reminded him of his father who was a past Fire Chief in Brockton. He enjoyed building model cars and dioramas. John was a member of the Model Car Collectors Association, the Cape Cod Scale Modelers Association, and loved to attend the Annual Model Show and Swap Meet, and the New England Regional Model Expo. He also liked to shoot pool and was quite the bowler. John was also a member of the Barnstable Newcombers Club.

Beside his loving wife Kathleen, John was survived by his children, Michele Lagarde, John Patrick Lagarde, granddaughter Aaliyah Lagarde, honorary grandson Geoffrey Dahl-Labbe, and many close friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Doane, Beal & Ames, 160 W Main St, Hyannis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 10:00am at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 347 South St, Hyannis. Interment will immediately follow.
