John Lango, age 70, died unexpectedly but peacefully at his home, on March 17, 2017.
He was born to the late James and Ruth Lango, on November 20, 1946, in Blakely, Georgia, where he lived until settling in Hyannis, Massachusetts, in 1963. He worked for the Colonial Candle Factory of Cape Cod for 38 years as a machine operator until the company's out-of-state relocation. He then was employed for the next 12 years as a custodian at Barnstable High School, retiring in April 2016.
Mr. Lango attended Zion Union Church, and could be found daily at home in his special room, reading his Bible.
John was a sports fanatic and enjoyed watch boxing and wrestling. He loved music, and in his younger years on weekends could be spotted at Joe’s Twin Villa or a house party spinning records, and in his later years making CDs to share with friends. John also never missed a chance to play the Lottery.
He had a great love for his family and friends, cherishing every moment spent with them. He devoted much of his time and energy to his family; he was Natasha’s rock, and special caregiver to Tayleece.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Christine; daughter, Natasha; a stepson, Dillon; and goddaughter, April; four grandchildren, Tayleece, Anna, Amani and Carter; four brothers, James, Lorenzo, Earnest and Bobby Joe; and three sisters, Lorraine, Evelyn and Tina. John was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty and Irma Jean.
