Born on September 7, 1929, Josephine was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Lucia Antonino. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 54 years, Francis Mulrey; her brother, Daniel Antonino; and her sisters, Marie Grace Gentile and Jenny MacDonald.
Josephine's greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her loving children: John Mulrey (Sandy); Michael Mulrey; Janice Blasche; Jo-Anne Hatfield (David); and Lisa Hamblet (Scott).
She was a proud and devoted grandmother to 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, each of whom brought endless smiles and pride to her later years.
Josephine began her career as a bookkeeper for Sears before dedicating herself to raising her family and creating a home where everyone felt welcome. She was an exceptional cook, and her kitchen was truly the heart of every family gathering. Whether preparing holiday feasts, making favorite family recipes, or simply insisting that everyone have one more helping, she showed her love through food, generosity, and the simple joy of bringing people together around her table.
A lifelong Boston sports fan, Josephine rarely missed cheering on her favorite teams. She and Frank shared a love of the beach, traveling, and many evenings playing cards with family and friends. Together they built a life filled with laughter, enduring friendships, and treasured memories.
Josephine and Frank raised their family in South Weymouth, Massachusetts, before enjoying retirement in Centerville on Cape Cod and later in Englewood, Florida. Her warmth, kindness, and welcoming spirit drew people in and left lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Josephine will be remembered for the close-knit family she nurtured, the countless meals she lovingly prepared, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
