OBITUARY

Julie Singleton Miller

July 31, 1959 – December 24, 2021
Obituary of Julie Singleton Miller
IN THE CARE OF

Doane Beal & Ames

Julie Singleton Miller of Cotuit, MA passed away on Christmas Eve, 2021. After a long brave battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully in her sleep with her mother at her side. Julie was only 62 but lived a life of carefree adventure, albeit too short.

Julie spent her last thirty years in Cotuit, MA. She enjoyed walking through the town visiting her favorite store. She frequented the ponds and beaches taking in the wildlife and beautiful scenery.

Julie was born in Cheshire, England to Patricia Miller & Graham Miller of Osterville, MA. Her father Graham passed away in July 2021. She is survived by her mother Patricia, brother David, sister-in-law Terry, niece Victoria McLaren and nephew Ian Miller.

The family moved to the US when Julie was nine. She was an extremely dedicated horseback rider winning many championships in equestrian and show jumping. Her childhood passion culminated with a superb performance at Madison Square Garden in the National Equestrian Finals. During that year, she graduated from Natick High School with honors. Shortly after high school Julie moved to London on the Kings Rd. Julie traveled the world never tiring of new countries with different cultures, but torn between two countries moved back to the States to be near her family in 1992 and resided in Cotuit until her death.

Her profound love of horses stayed with her forever. She was a supporter of wildlife, the environment, an avid reader and had a keen love of music.

As Julie matured later in her life she grew increasingly frustrated at the lack of compassion humanity has shown for the environment. She read extensively on the subject and her views might well be proved correct in the near future.

Julie battled mental illness most of her life, but her strong will enabled her to cope with her illness.

A funeral is scheduled for 11 am January 5, 2021 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Wianno Ave., Osterville, MA. The Rev. Elizabeth Grundy will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Julie’s short but full life. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Beacon Hospice, Hyannis or National Alliance for the Mentally Ill on Cape Cod.

Our family would like to thank the amazing caregivers of Falmouth Hospital and the Windsor Skilled Nursing Facility in S. Yarmouth, MA. Many thanks as well to the heartwarming support from all our friends here and abroad.
