Marie A. Monteiro

Marie A. Monteiro, 87 of Hyannis, MA passed away on April 17, 2015 after a brief illness. Marie was predeceased by her husband Manuel D. Monteiro, Sr. and her daughter Roma J. DeRosa (Monteiro).

Marie was born on August 4, 1927 in Middleboro, MA. Marie made her way to Cape Cod in the early 1960’s where she managed several local restaurants and raised her family. She enjoyed cooking, spending time at the beach, taking long drives around the Cape but most of all she loved her family, her friends and her pets.

Marie is survived by her two sons Manuel D. Monteiro, Jr. of Hyannis and Peter M. Monteiro along with his wife Kristen of Marston’s Mills; her grandchildren Heather N. Monteiro of Centerville, Alexander M. and Olivia G. Monteiro and great-granddaughter Kaeli J. Woodworth. She was also predeceased by brother- in- law Joseph D. Monteiro; survived by sisters –in-law, Theresa F. Wood of S. Dennis and Mary F. Goode of Dorchester “and several nieces & nephews”.

A visitation hour will be held at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main Street, Hyannis, on Saturday May 9, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 am, with a service immediately following at 11:00am.
