Marissa Jean Cook, 35, passed away on April 5, 2019.

Marissa loved listening to music, particularly Madonna. She also enjoyed singing, dancing, and taking pictures of nature. Marissa had a real flair for photography. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Cook.

Family and friends are invited to attend Marissa’s funeral service on Saturday, April 20th at 1:30 p.m. at Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St., Hyannis, followed by a gathering at the Elks Lodge on Bearses Way in Hyannis from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

I met Marissa when she was born and have many memories of watching her play on her grandparents deck with her toys always in motion and busy with them. She maintained that motion in her life and just as she loved her toys she showed that love thru life on people. when you would see her the first question out of her mouth was "how are you and the family". She loved to make you laugh so she could laugh with you-it brought her joy!! Marissa was a whirlwind passing by us for too short a time but we will always remember her and love her until we have her in our midst once again to hug and laugh with . We need to remain faithful to this promise in order to be there with her she was loved by many and left a memory on each of their lives <3 <3

My heart is so sad this beautiful friend is gone. It feels like a bad dream I will awaken from and it does not seem real.
I was with marissa a week before she passed away - we had lunch and talked about the Bible together . We made plans to explore plymouth together .
She was always watching out and caring for others needs to make sure everyone was ok . Such a loving heart.

Sending Iove and prayers to the family.
I will treasure the time I spent with marissa until we meet again . Xoxo

Marissa was full of life and laughter she would always make sure everyone else was OK. As young kids growing up together we would watch each other‘s baby dolls and take walks around the block with our baby strollers she would always have the best outfits and I always loved it when I could wear one of her’s . She was my maid of honor I would’ve had anybody else she knew everything about me all my secrets and all the desires I wanted in life I couldn’t imagine a better person growing up with and I will forever cherish our memories in my heart. She is at peace with her mom who she adored and thought was so beautiful. RIP my dear friend All my love Skylar

Marissa was my first grandchild who later became my daughter.
She loved people unconditionally. Was funny and could find the good side to everyone. She would always tell me “ I’m trying”. I know she was. Of course we are all broken hearted over this tragedy but I’m finding comfort knowing her inner struggles and suffering are over. She is asleep until she is called to wake up. I will anxiously wait for that day. Praying I will be there to greet her with open arms. 🙏
