Marjorie (Coe) Smith, 83, of Barnstable went to be with the Lord on Friday November 13, 2020. Born in Boston, MA to the late Benjamin “Ralph” Coe and Margaret Coe, Marjorie lived in Canton MA for over 35 years before relocating to her childhood vacation place of Cape Cod.
Marjorie was the director of a Preschool in Canton for over 20 years where she loved caring for and teaching young children in their early days of schooling. After teaching for years, her passion for supporting and caring for others continued as she joined the staff of Canton Family Medical Associates as their office manager.
After retiring, Marjorie was able to move to her beloved Cape Cod with her husband Stan and enjoy life on her favorite peninsula. She continued to enjoy teaching children in Sunday School where her son in law is a pastor at Covenant Community Church in Sandwich. She also adored caring for her (now grown) grandchildren.
Marjorie is survived by her daughters Susan Wines and her husband Lynn, Gretchen Axelson and her husband Peter, and her grandchildren Caleb and Anna Axelson.
A memorial service will be held at 4pm on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Christ Chapel, 1200 Old Stage Road in Centerville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marjorie’s name to Covenant Community Church 360 Quaker Meeting House Road, East Sandwich, MA 02537.
