Mary Lou Street

Born to the late L. Frank and Ann Woodruff, Mary Lou grew up in Wellesley and graduated from Wellesley High School in 1945 and Skidmore College in 1949. She married the late Lucien “Gene” Flowers in 1953 and resided in Wellesley where they raised a family. She also spent many years as a legal assistant to State Senator David Locke.

Mary Lou had many hobbies including sailing, curling, golf, skiing and gardening. She was a member of the Osterville Garden Club, the King’s Way Ladies Golf League, book clubs and bridge clubs. She worked tirelessly as a fundraiser for Skidmore College. She loved to travel the world and managed to see most of it. She enjoyed and valued the many friends she made during her life, spending time with her extended family and loved a good laugh. Her door was always open to family and friends, and you were sure to be greeted with a smile.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 16 years, Earle “Bud” Street; her children, David Flowers and his wife Karen of Sandwich, Cynthia Flowers Lister and her husband Robert of Centerville and Stephen Flowers of Concord, NH; her grandchildren, Alison Flowers, Jason Flowers (wife Stephanie), Emily Flowers Lister, and Alexander Stanley; her great-grandchildren, Avery and Scarlett Flowers; her sister Nancy Morganstern of Weston and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her late husband Almore “Tommy” Thompson and her sister Marcia Dalton.
