Back in April she helped pull me out of a tough time I was going through. I was depressed and feeling just awful. Melissa called me up and said lets go! She dragged me out for a day long drive along the coast and she was so positive and smart and funny and it turned my mood around, she was a true angel and will be forever looking down on all those she loved and those who cared abour her!

My heart goes out to all of Melissa's family and friends and I wanted to offer my sincere condolences. I was her third grade teacher at Hyannis East and so vividly remember her as a smart caring girl with a warm smile and contagious cheerfulness. I can see that these qualities blossomed as she grew and will be missed by all who loved her. My deepest sympathy to you all. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Melissa knows what a tremendous loss this is. She was such a bright light in so many lives and will be missed terribly.

It's incredibly difficult to articulate just how special Melissa was without doing her an injustice. She wasn't just funny, she was the type of person who could hone in on your brand of humor and keep up with you, all the while making you laugh. She wasn't just kind, she made everyone around her feel comfortable, welcome and worthwhile. She wasn't just smart, she was effortlessly intelligent and her intellect was tops. Above everything else, she loved her family and friends more than anything and anyone who was lucky enough to be in her life knew how much she cared for them. She made sure to express that regularly, and I will hold those words in my heart for as long as I live.

I'll try my best to honor your memory every day and embody the traits you so effortlessly held. I can't express how much I'm going to miss you, Melissa. I love you. Rest in the sweetest peace. <3
