OBITUARY

Patricia L. Jutras

October 16, 1958June 29, 2020

Patricia L. Jutras, 61, of Hyannis, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2020 in her home. She was the loving partner of John Watkins.

Patricia (Patty) was born in Framingham, MA, on October 16, 1958. She was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur and Alma (Lunt) Ireland. Raised in Wellesley, she was a graduate of Wellesley High School, before moving to the Cape and settling in Hyannis.

Patty is predeceased by her daughter Adria, brothers Michael, Brian and William Ireland and her grandson Jordan Galvin-Jutras. In addition to John, Patricia is survived by her adored children; sons Stephen and Jose Jutras both of Hyannis, MA and daughter Ruby Watkins of Minneapolis, MN; her dear siblings; Karen Leshinski and Deborah Farley both of Hyannis, MA; Stephen Ireland of Winchester, NH and Caitlin McNamara of Centerville, MA. Her cherished grandchildren also survive her: David, Lillyanna, Alyssa, Janea, Arthur, Kaileigh, Jared, Jaren and Alyanna. Patricia also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members.

Patty truly adored her family, and took every chance she could to joke and laugh with the kids, whether in the neighborhood, or nieces, nephews and grandkids. She had a special way of making us smile and feel loved and seen, even in hard times. She loved music, her cats, and good food. Despite recent brain surgery to remove a tumor, Patty never for a second lost her goofy sense of humor, or her hope. She fought bravely and with a smile, like she did in everything else.

With STRICT adherence to COVID-19 health precautions and social distancing rules, family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday July 10, 2020 from 9:00 am -10:30 am at Doane, Beal and Ames, 160 West Main St, Hyannis, MA 02601. A Funeral mass will follow 11 am at Our Lady of Victory, 230 South Main St, Centerville, MA 02632. Patricia will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellesley, MA.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Patricia’s name to the American Heart Association, https://www.heart.org/ Her family encourages all who loved Patty to honor her by remembering her laugh and emulating her giving spirit.

So sad to hear that Patty has left us. We worked together for years at Dunkin Donuts on Cape Cod. She had a wonderful sense of humor (and sarcastic wit). Always making us laugh. Loved her kids. Talked nonstop about them. She will be missed and remembered by family , friends and customers. Shine bright Patricia.

I met Patty when Ruby and Tayleece went to preschool together. INSTANTLY WE BECAME BEST FRIENDS. PATTY TREATED HER FAMILY AND Friens as she wanted to be treated. I could tell her anything and she could tell me anything. SHE HAD A GLOWING AND A CONTAGIOUS LAUGH AND I miss her and am heartbroken. I WILL MISS OUR JAUNTS TO THE CASINO, WE DIDNOT HAVE MUCH MONEY, BUT IT WAS SO MUCH. WE HAD MANY TRIP WITH CAPE COD CHEER AND ALWAYS LAUGH ABOUT THINGS WE SAW. MY CONDOLENCES TO HER FAMILY. SHE WAS ONE OF A.KIND. SHE INCLUDED ME IN ALL HOLIDAYS WITH HER FAMILY AND I WILL MISS HER WITH MY WHOLE BEING

I worked with Patty 30 years ago in a bookstore on Main St in Hyannis. She was so funny and smart and hardworking — always making us laugh. Fierce and loving mama, too — the kids often visited the store, and Adria came after school daily and did her homework at the back counter. We caught up occasionally over the years — always a hard hug and a good laugh — that deep, rumbly chortle of hers. Godspeed, good woman, old friend.

For my aunt:

Patti always said that I was really "her child" because I used to remind her of herself. I still can hear her laugh. I can still see her smile. I can still remember her sarcastic humor.

There are so many memories that I have with her, but the ones that stand out the most, involve her cooking. She could make a meal out of anything with no formal recipe or idea what it would come out as. That's one of the things I loved most about my aunt, her creativeness.

You were always so good to me. I will miss you so very much. May you rest in peace and be with all of our predecessors. I hope to meet you again someday, hold that gate open for me Auntie Patti!! I love you so much!

Juice, Jose, and Ruby: I am truly sorry for your loss and am thinking of you with loving thoughts and prayers. 💕

Love,
Michelle Ireland
