Richard (Dick) Peckham died unexpectedly at Cape Cod Hospital on May 7th surrounded by his loving family.
Dick started the Peckham Family electrical contracting business in 1967 and was an active member of the National Electrical Contractors Association. In the Hyannis community, he was a leader with the Mid-Cape Jaycees, Kiwanis, and President of the Massachusetts Junior Miss Program. Spiritually, he was a life-long parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church. In Marco Island, Florida, he was a parishioner at San Marco Church, a Third Knight of the Knights of Columbus and a Habitat for Humanity volunteer.
He loved skiing the slopes of New England and sailing the waters of Cape Cod & The Islands...racing the Figawi and many regattas.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of Wilford & Louise Peckham. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Phyllis, children Stephen, Jeanne, Roey, Barbara, Richard, David, Cheryl, Daniel, and Timothy; brothers Paul (Vera) and Robert (Betsy); sisters Jane Desrosiers (Gene), MaryLou (Nick) and Eleanor (Roger); son-in-law, Brian Covell, daughters-in law; Barbara Hill and Kelly Peckham, 20 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by son Thomas, brother Easton and grandson Bryan Francis.
There will be a wake with visiting hours at Doane, Beal & Ames 160 West Main Street, Hyannis, MA 02601 on Monday, May 13th from 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church 347 South St, Hyannis, MA 02601 on Tuesday, May 14th at 10 AM with burial to follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
