She was the beloved wife of devoted husband John Paul Kane of Centerville, MA. They shared their love for one another as a married couple for 52 years.
She was a first generation Italian American born and raised in Leominster, MA. Rita is the daughter of
the late Angelo and Victoria Lattanzio of Leominster, MA. John and Rita lived overseas in Germany and traveled throughout Europe as a young couple before settling in Barnstable where they raised three children together -- Matthew Kane, Kristen Kane-Traywick, and Beth Kane. Rita is also
survived by one brother Nunzio and his wife Mary as well as six grandchildren, Alex Kane, Emily Kane, Corcoran Kane, Reilly Kane, Robinson Traywick and Kane Traywick, and several cousins, nieces and
nephews.
In Rita’s passing she will join her brothers, Ernesto Lattanzio, Jernado Lattanzio, Giuseppe Lattanzio, and sister Natalie Marinelli.
In addition to Rita’s incredible love for her family and friends her talents in the arts led to a career in both fine jewelry and interior design as well as her love for gardening. Her thoughtfulness to help others guided her to donate her time to Habitat For Humanity and she spent several years volunteering
for the Figawi Organization.
We remember her for her love of bringing family and friends together. As the Matriarch she showed her love through her passion for cooking Italian cuisines and joy in giving to others. She had a keen sense of style, incredible wit, and a strength and courage to fight.
Visiting Hours will be held Saturday, June 1st from 4pm-7pm at Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home 160 W Main St, Hyannis, MA. A remembrance celebration will be announced at a future date.
