Robert William Bridges

May 26, 1929 – July 5, 2026
Obituary of Robert William Bridges
IN THE CARE OF

Doane Beal & Ames

Robert William Bridges took his last Aloha—“breath of life”—on July 5, 2026, at home in Barnstable, Massachusetts, while holding the hand of Jeanne, the love of his life. Bob was born in Palm Beach, Florida, on May 26, 1929, to Alice and Parks Bridges. He received a Catholic education from the Brothers of St. Francis Xavier. Bob joined the Marine Corps and served at Kaneohe Bay on Oahu, where he learned the meaning of Aloha. He never lost his love of sunshine, warmth, and pineapple. Above all, he loved Jeanne, his wife of 70 years, and their children, Linda and Robert. During his career with the FAA, he inspected airports throughout New England and often brought Jeanne and the children along. Bob and Jeanne raised their family in Framingham and spent summers at their camp on Green Lake in Northern Maine.

Bob was known for his love of sweets, and neighborhood children knew they could always get a cookie at his house.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his daughter, Linda Reid, and her husband, Everett Reid; his son, Robert Christopher, and his wife, Debbie; his grandchildren, Christopher and Kerrigan; and his great-grandchildren, Ainsley, Emma, and Brody.

In his memory, please embrace the spirit of Aloha—kindness, unity, and respect—and try each day to bring smiles to friends and strangers alike.
