It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Kester, who died peacefully on September 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Bob faced numerous health challenges in the latter part of his life with courage, resilience, and grace.
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Bob later moved to Massachusetts, where he attended Framingham North High School. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Salem State University. A gifted and passionate artist, Bob expressed his creativity through many mediums, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful work that will continue to inspire.
Bob found joy in life’s simple pleasures—listening to classic rock, spending time at the beach, and cheering on his beloved Boston Bruins. He was known for his quick wit, kindness, and deep loyalty to those he loved.
Bob is survived by his mother, Claire Fitzgerald; his brother, Eric Kester; his sons, Samuel Kester and Connor Jean; his niece and nephew; and his lifelong friends, Kate Dickerman and Heidi Huber. He will also be deeply missed by his many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
A private family ceremony will be held in the near future to honor Bob’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider supporting a local arts program or cheering extra loud for the Bruins in his memory.
