Ron was born on February 22, 1948, in Waterbury, CT to Ronald Jackle Seidel and Katherine (Stolfi) Seidel.
Growing up in Wolcott, CT, he was bookish and impish in equal measure, charming many teachers as well as his aunts and uncles.
Ron married his high school sweetheart, Marie (Santos) in 1969. He and Marie had two daughters, Lynn and Erica.
He attended Babson College and the New England School of Law. His legal position at Timex brought him to England, France, Thailand, India, the Philippines, and Hong Kong.
In 1989, Ron and Marie moved from West Hartford, CT to Cape Cod. There, Ron established his private practice in tax and estate law. Many clients and collaborators became close friends.
When he wasn't working (and he did have quite a work ethic!), Ron loved golfing, boating, and fishing. He was an enthusiastic member at Cummaquid Golf Club, and he enjoyed playing cards with other loyal regulars at the club, especially as he started to work a bit less and enjoy himself more. He made an outstanding paella. He loved tapioca pudding, hot cereals, and a good Manhattan. He had a habit of waking up at ungodly hours and heading out to fish or golf or work. He was dedicated to his parents who lived until 2020, ensuring they were well cared for, even as his own health declined. He maintained close friendships over decades. His childhood best friend, Jack Rosevear, stayed his dear friend until the end.
Ron was planful and quick, with a dry humor.
He and Marie had a partnership that was unusually strong – they were a bonded pair. They enjoyed going on international adventures just as much as they liked doing ballroom dance classes and eating ice cream in front of the TV. In fact, he was not above distracting Marie so he could steal some of her ice cream. At Christmastime, Marie and Ron anonymously gave funds to families in need at the elementary school where Marie taught. Ron also supported Cape Cod hospice organizations.
Ron is survived by his wife Marie; daughter Lynn and her husband John; daughter Erica and her husband Matthias, and two cherished granddaughters. He is also survived by his brother Richard, and numerous extended family members, friends and colleagues.
Visiting Hours will take place at Doane, Beal & Ames, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis, MA 02601 on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 9:30-11 am immediately followed by an 11 am service. Burial to follow in Sandwich Town Cemetery.
The Seidel family deeply thanks the many kind and dedicated individuals who cared for Ron in his final years.
