Roy, 57, of Hyannis passed away on January 16, 2022. He was beloved husband of Haijuan Boeyinga and father to Davie Zhu and Oliver Boeyinga, son of Mia Dupre and late Lambertus Boeyinga. Roy was the brother of Erica Boeyinga and Bruce Boeyinga.
Mia and Lambertus immigrated to the United States by ocean liner from the Netherlands through Ellis Island in the fifties and settled in New Jersey. Roy was the middle of three children, born July 18, 1964, in Passaic, New Jersey. After the birth of Roy’s brother Bruce, the family moved from Passaic to Nantasket Beach, Massachusetts and later to Pocasset, Massachusetts. The family purchased a quant gambrel home that abutted the Town Forrest of Bourne, Massachusetts. There was a short path behind the house that led down to Four Ponds. Roy and Bruce spent time fishing, hanging out at the old clubhouse (has since burned down), and riding dirt bikes in the town forest. Roy developed countless friendships over his years in Bourne and enjoyed hanging out with them around town. Places frequented were Mo Beach, Cleggs on corner of RT28 and Barrows Landing Rd, and the old arcade in Buzzards Bay. Roy attended Bourne High School, class of 1982, and loved to play ice hockey. Later Roy would attend Johnson and Wales. Roy had a passion to cook food, which he pursued with a lifelong career in food service industry. Roy had many ventures as a Chef, from owner operator of a catering company in Boston to traveling, designing, and setting up restaurant kitchens. Roy loved all things motorized, Ice Hockey, saltwater fishing, camping, cooking, and people. Roy loved to travel, he spent time in China where he met his wife, Haijuan. They moved back to the States and settled in Florida, together they established Spas both in Florida and here in Massachusetts. He loved sharing his passions and bringing smiles to faces. More than anything Roy loved being with his wife and two boys, Davie, and Oliver. Roy always went above and beyond for them.
In addition to his loving wife Haijuan, mother and siblings, Roy is survived by his nephews, Daryl Richardson and spouse Jocelyn Richardson, Cody Boeyinga, and Ethan Boeyinga: as well as many other family members that reside in the Netherlands.
Roy will be missed very much; he was a loving charismatic person.
