Born in Quincy, MA, the loving daughter of the late Charles R. and Marie O. Maddox, Sharon grew up in Abington, MA. She then moved to Middleboro, where she started a family and built her first home. Sharon later decided to relocate with her family to Cape Cod, where she purchased her final home on the Avenues of West Hyannisport; a place she deeply adored and really felt at home. She chose to retire there after her long successful career of 30 years with National Grid. It was there, at her forever home in West Hyannisport, she became an avid gardener and loved working in her yard. She took great pride in her home, loved kayaking and spending time at the beach behind her house with family, friends, and their pets; there she loved to sunbathe and take long walks to relax and unwind.
Sharon frequently visited Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, where she enjoyed time with friends and especially her closest cousin, Richard “Ricky” Dwyer, whom she adored. She loved to shop and had a particular taste for the finer things. A generous and joyful spirit, Sharon loved to laugh and share good times with her neighbors, friends, and family. She was the life of the party—her big, beautiful infectious smile and insatiable laugh will be remembered by all who knew her. Sharon is survived by her two children, Douglas R. Braddock of Belmont NH and Tara M. Braddock of Plymouth, MA; her five siblings Theresa M. Wayburn and her husband Richard F. Wayburn of Centerville MA, Charles R. Maddox of Big Pine Key FL, Robert J. Maddox of Mashpee MA, David A. Maddox of Hyannis MA, and Donna L. Weare and her husband Loren P. Weare of Cotuit, MA. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren, Nathaniel R Gonzalez , Joshua M. Gonzalez , Nolan F. Gonzalez of Plymouth MA, Daniel Villano and Arianna Villano of Sandwich, MA, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her son Danny Villano of Wareham MA. Sharon will always be remembered, loved and deeply missed by all that knew her.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th, from 10am to 12noon, in the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main St, Hyannis. Committal service will follow at 1pm, in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Pine St, Centerville.
