Susan A. Hutchinson

Mary Susan Alexander Hutchinson, 84, died November 18, 2011. She was born November 25, 1926 in St. Louis, MO., to her parent s Mary Susan Prendergast of St. Louis, MO., and Charles Wesley Alexander of Levenworth, KS. She was married for 44 years to the late Paul Conklin Hutchinson of Arlington MA. She is survived by her two daughters Carolyn Mary Hutchinson of Neenah, WI and Cynthia Ellen Hutchinson of Centerville, MA. She also leaves her sisters Carol McDonald and husband Robert of Ridgefield CT., Catherine Alexander of Yelm Washington, Mary Josephine Goff of Tuscon, AZ and Patricia & Richard Condon of Punta Gorda, FL. Also surviving her, are her husband’s children, Mark Henry, Anne and Sara Hutchinson.

Susan was a fantastic and loving mother and dedicated wife. She attended Endicott College outside Boston and worked as a secretary in several companies; the Hat Corporation of America, the chemistry department at Harvard University and the Perkin-Elmer Corp. She met her husband, Paul, at Perkin-Elmer and they married in 1961. She ran the household and raised her two children and step-son. She had many talents, along with helping her husband run his consulting business. She developed a talent for architectural design and over the years she redesigned and oversaw the contracting of seven beautiful homes. Susan was also an excellent tennis player and loved to keep up with investing, politics, and sports, especially golf.

She will be very dearly missed by her family and friends, but the many memories of wonderful evenings around the kitchen table talking and laughing about life will keep her close to us.
