Theresa A Simmons

Theresa A. Simmons, 56, died after a lengthy illness August 17, 2011. Born, raised and educated on the Cape, she attended Barnstable High School and earned an Associates Degree at Cape Cod Community College.

She spent much of her career working as a program director at the May Institute. She is survived by her husband Ronald Simmons Sr. of Brunswick GA., mother Eileen Maddox of Hyannis, son Ronald Simmons Jr. and his wife Amy of Greensboro NC, Brother John W. Marcelino and close friend Bridgette Schiffer of Cleveland Ohio, Brother Duane Lopes, Sister Jacqueline Lopes, grandson Aiden Simmons, and close friend Shirley Lynch of Browns Summit NC.

Very much a family person, she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson Aiden. She will be remembered as a loving, giving, gregarious person who always showed a deep concern for others.

Visiting hours will be on Monday August 22, 2011 at the Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St. Hyannis, 02601 from 4-8pm. A memorial funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30pm. Interment will be private.
