The song is ended, but the melody lingers on
Zane H. Trent, son of the late Zane and Lucy Trent, was born August 26, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received his early education in the Philadelphia public schools. After leaving Philadelphia he continued his education at Carver Elementary and Washington High School in Georgia.
Zane, who was affectionately called “Zany Boy” by family and friends, accepted Christ at an early age and served at Allen Chapel A.M.E Church in Blakely, Georgia.
As a young man he came to Massachusetts and was employed for more than 30 years at the Colonial Candle Factory of Cape Cod (one of the largest industrial employers on Cape Cod), as a wax mixer.
Some of his enjoyable pastimes were singing, dancing, working on cars and gardening. He loved to fish.
Our loved one departed this life on March 9, 2017, after a brief illness. Zane leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Lucy Trent; his three children, Trina, Zane and Vanessa; four grandchildren, Kayla, Robert, Trevor and Savannah; three sisters, LaVerne (Willie), Frances (Harry) and Sybil; one uncle, and four aunts; lifelong friend Noah Bell; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was also the brother of the late Clifton Trent.
