

She was born December 8, 1933 in Waterloo Iowa, a daughter of late William Sass and Laura Keopke.
She had 8 years of schooling. This is kind of interesting but wasn’t unnormal back then.
Arlene was united in marriage to James Dobbins. He has preceded her in death.
Arlene worked at Independence Regional Hospital in Housekeeping which she retired from. She enjoyed family time, telling folks what to do,
loved to be outside, working with flowers and the yard. She loved GOD, she loved birds, esp cardinals. She loved butterflies. She was a member of weight watchers for over 35 years. She was part of al-Anon l. She loved to walk. She loved word searches, loved yogurt and turkey burgers.
Arlene had 6 children; 2 of her children preceded her in death. David Dobbins and Denise Dobbins. Her 4 surviving children are: Charlotte Pashik of Sugar Creek MO; William Vaughan (Rene) of Shawnee KS; Joseph Vaughan (Katie) of Sugar Creek MO; , Diana Keyton (Chris) of Slater, MO.
She has 11 Grandchildren: Gwendy Foreman (Randy) Independence, MO; Krissy Duncan of Jefferson City, MO; Greg Duncan (Hannah) of Slater, MO; Steven Bohan of Independence, MO, Angie Ford, San Diego, CA; Brandie Vaughan of Chambersburg PA; Nathan Vaughan (Amber)of Overland Park, KS; David Vaughan (Laura)of Overland Park, KS, ; Christopher Vaughan (Christine) of St Louis, MO; Michael Escobar of Lawerence KS; and Brian Escobar of Independence, MO; and 20 “Wonderful “ Great Grandchildren.
She was blessed for sure.
Arlene was also preceeed in death by her brothers, Don, Willie, Luverne , Wilbert and sisters, Al, and Laurine.
A small family gathering will be at Newcomers of Noland Rd, Friday, February 18 at 10am.
