

Audra V. Thomas, 87, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven at Centerpoint Medical Center on November 4, 2015. Visitation will be 12:30 - 2:30 pm Saturday November 7, with the service at 2:30 pm at Noland Road Chapel, 509 S. Noland Rd, Independence. Internment will follow service at Woodlawn Cemetery, 701 S. Noland Rd. Audra was born in Peace Valley, MO to Ivo and Ruth Jones. She was raised and educated in West Plains, MO, where she also met her future husband while he was on R & R from Ft. Leonardwood. She and Albert married in 1947 and lived in several Missouri cities before moving to Wichita, KS. Audra worked at Boeing as a sheet metal worker making B47's and 737's. After the birth of their son she became a homemaker for the rest of her life. She and Albert eventually moved to Independence to be close to their son and his family. Her hobbies included raising a variety of animals, gardening, and collecting and restoring antiques. She volunteered as a Sunday School teacher, was a caretaker for foster children, and transported blood for the Red Cross. Audra was preceded in death by parents, sister Dolores Ruth Jones, and brothers-in-law Pat Green and Marvin Willis, nephew Jackie Green, Marvin Wayne Willis, neice Jeanne Willis. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband Albert "Tommy" Thomas, son Daryl Thomas (Becky), six grandchildren Trey Schesser, Chris Schesser, Alex Schesser, Darla Thomas, Darcy Thomas, and Daryl Larissa Thomas, sisters Edith Green and Imo Willis, and brother Jimmy Jones (Shirley), many nieces and nephews.
