Mr. Bobby Joe Barnes was born October 03,1944 in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the Late Mr. Earl Barnes and Stella Palmer. He also spent much time in his earlier years with his grandparents, Late Commodore and Essie Palmer in Morrilton Arkansas. Bobby later moved to Kansas City, Missouri with his mother, he was the eldest of three children. Bobby attended the Kansas City, Missouri School District.
In 1969 Bobby was drafted into Military Service during the Vietnam War where he served honorably until his discharge. He was employed with Butler Manufacturing Company until 2004 upon his retirement.
Bobby met Jacqueline Slaughter, she became the love of his life. He asked for her hand in marriage in 1982, four children came from this union. Lil Bob had a youthful spirit within his Earthly presence
He lived a stylish and adventurous life; he also had a passion for Cadillacs.
On May 24, 2026, Bobby departed this Earthly life to join with his loved ones on the other side. He will be sincerely missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his spouse Jacqueline Barnes, son Tarey Slaughter, Mother Stella Palmer, brother Michael Palmer, grandparents, aunts, cousins.
Bobby leaves to cherish his memories; sons, Malcolm Barnes (Nasreen) of Atlanta, GA, Lamar Barnes (Amber) of Blue Springs, MO, and Stacy Slaughter of Independence; sister, Cynthia Palmer of Kansas City, MO; John East Palmer and Lois Palmer of Kansas City; aunts; a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel, 509 S NOLAND RD, INDEPENDENCE, MO 64050, US, on June 23, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel, 509 S NOLAND RD, INDEPENDENCE, MO 64050, US, on June 23, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
