

Charles Compton Gulley I who was born in Kansas City, Missouri on August 30th 1937 passed into God’s realm on October 19th 2022. He was 85 years old.
Charles was a hard worker and a wonderful, loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather “PoPo”. He loved his entire family with all of his heart. He had never met a stranger and was always ready with a smile and a handshake for new friends and old ones. He was an avid and talented guitarist who loved a little picken’ and a grinnin’ with his sons, loved ones, friends, and anyone who wanted to enjoy some good music and rich conversation.
Charles always enjoyed working with his hands and was never afraid to get them dirty. From a very early age he learned to be a hard worker by working for his father at his trash company in Merriam, Kansas. From there his work ethic would take him from Kansas City Missouri to Fresno California, with his beautiful wife and their three children. In 2003 Charles moved back to Missouri with his daughter, son-in-law and their two children. There he lived out the rest of his retirement until his departure from this world.
Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Ruth-Ellen Gulley. He is also preceded in death by his parents, George and Martha Gulley, and 10 of his siblings, Martha Louise Gully, Shirley Gulley, Frederick Gulley, Albert Gulley Sr., Milton Gulley, Kenneth Gulley Sr., Theodore Gulley, Margaret Larabee, Mary Lamson and Leva Sharon.
He is survived by his brother Richard Gulley, his brother in law and best-friend Clarence Sharon, his son Christopher B. Gulley(Amy), Dana M. Sowerby(Neil) Charles C.Gulley II, his four grandchildren and their spouses, six great grandchildren, and his many nieces and nephews.
Charles will be greatly missed by all who love him.
