Christopher Allen Peters

Christopher (Chris) A. Peters, age 58, of Blue Springs, MO passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3:00 pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Blue Springs Nazarene Church, 2801 SW Walnut Street, Blue Springs, MO with funeral services at 3:00 pm. Burial will be in the Blue Springs Cemetery. Chris is survived by Marilyn, his wife of 36 years, a son Jeffrey and his wife Sylvia, a son Sean and his wife Kristen, and a son Tyler. Chris is also survived by a brother Bernie & his wife Petra, a sister Pat Nichols, a brother Dennis and his wife Diane, a sister Tina Ertl and her husband Ron, a sister Missy Wilkinson and her husband Larry, and a number of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his grandchildren Maria Kille, Adaline Peters, Mollee Peters, and Cooper Peters. Preceding Chris in death were a brother Jerry, a brother Tom, and a sister Nancy (Sloan) Macon. Both of his parents also preceded him in death. Chris was born January 4, 1959 in Fort Sill, OK to Delmar and Helga Peters. As a child of a career Army NCO, Chris lived in various locations in the U.S. and Germany until he graduated from high school in Manhattan, KS in 1977. After high school Chris worked in retail management for a number of years before ill health changed his status to stay-at-home dad. Chris had lived in Blue Springs for the past 23 years and was a long-time member of the Blue Springs First Church of the Nazarene. Chris loved history, reading, camping & fishing, and watching sports. He had a knack for making friends wherever he went…from his local mechanic & barber, to folks at the grocery store. Chris was a generous, caring man who enjoyed doing things to make other people happy. He believed that caring was the best way to show Christ’s love to them. His family and friends will deeply miss Chris’ presence in their lives.
