

Danny Wayne Coin, 60, passed away on October 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and deep love for his family. He was born on November 9, 1964, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Imogene and Burley Coin. Danny spent his life as a devoted resident of Independence.
For 41 years, Danny was a familiar face at Jackson County Public Works, where he began his career at the age of 19. His remarkable career was a point of pride, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to his job and the community he served.
At 19, Danny married the love of his life, Angie, and together, they built a family filled with love, laughter, and memories. He was the proud father of two daughters, Brittany and Crystal, and he opened his heart to additional children he considered his own. Danny’s family was his greatest joy, and he took immense pride in his role as a husband, father, and grandfather.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Burley and Imogene Coin; his sister, Barbara; brothers, Burley Jr. and Tony; and his beloved in-laws, Jackie and Larry Williams. As well as his sister-in-law Jodi Williams.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Angie Coin; his sister, Deborah Coin; daughters Brittany Luedeman and Crystal Rice; son-in-law Jesse Rice; and bonus daughter Krysten Bowman. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Brayden Rice, Mya Luedeman, and Jackson Rice, as well as his bonus granddaughter, Jaycee Feeler(great niece). Danny also leaves behind nieces Brandy (Danny) Preator, Amber (Freddy) Capielo, Georgia (Mike) Shutz, Adrianna Osuna (Peyton Heim), Jessica Williams; great-nieces, great- nephews, cousins, and his cherished aunt, Treva Bruce. As well as Brother-in-law Dale Williams.
Danny will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, sense of humor, and the love he shared so freely with everyone around him. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched.
